If you are dreaming of a white Christmas, there is no better strain to purchase than our legendary White Widow feminised. This is undoubtedly the best Christmas gift you will ever buy!
White Widow is one of the best-known, and still one of the most potent, cannabis strains in the world. Originally created in the early 1990’s, its release to the coffee-shops of Amsterdam was met with universal rave reviews as canna-tourists flocked in their thousands to find out whether all the advance publicity for this white strain was true. It was and remains so today.
Bred by crossing a Brazilian sativa strain with a highly resinous South Indian indica it is named after the plant’s frosty appearance which makes it white with resin – a perfect representation of the festive season!
White Widow is designed for the utmost potency rather than any complex flavour profile although the smoke is very smooth and satisfying. The initial hit comes on fast and strong, which can leave anyone but the most experienced canna-seur needing to sit down, but this then slowly evolves into a very relaxing high ideal for enjoying holiday music.
It is an easy strain to grow almost anywhere; its eight week flowering period ensuring that it will be ready to harvest outdoors in October in northern latitudes before the weather gets too cold. THC levels are high, around 20%.
A jaw dropping festival of lights that warm the soul even on the coldest of nights…and we are not talking about the natural light display that occurs every winter in the Northern reaches of the globe.
Instead, we are discussing the legendary strain aptly named after the annual mystical event.
As far back as the Eighties, Northern Lights was setting the standard by which other Indicas are still judged and she remains one of the most trusted names and sought-after varieties in modern cannabis culture.
For many years, Northern Lights dominated the various harvest festivals, winning cup after cup, leading to more than one request that she be retired from competition in order to allow other strains a shot at the title.
With this Northern Lights feminised from Sensi, the legendary Afghani Indica makes her debut as a feminized strain.
Like most of her family, Northern Lights Feminised is usually grown indoors, though this strain can also perform very well outdoors in a warm, sunny climate, so Southern Hemisphere customers take note!
Northern Lights Feminised continues the traditions of her classic ancestors; she produces fast, solid harvests with surprisingly little growing-odour. Nevertheless, her buds are sweetly fragrant and, due to their thick coating of THC-rich trichomes, remarkably powerful!
3. Snow White Feminised from Nirvana Seeds – Click here to buy now!
While this may be the only snow you see this Christmas, you will certainly not be disappointed. This beauty of a plant has buds so white in colour, that they look like a winter wonderland of dense crystals. A true Christmas delight!
Snow White will grow well in any grow media although it is perhaps best-suited to hydroponics where growth will be more rapid and display higher yields.
It is an indoor strain with a flowering time of between 8-10 weeks and producing between 400-500 gr/m2. Buds are dense, as befits an indica-dominant strain, and covered in resin-producing trichomes.
During flowering the smell is not as strong as many other strains and therefore it is useful as a “stealth” strain when growing near to neighbours.
It has a smooth taste with notes of sweet, earthy citrus flavours. THC production is medium with high levels of CBD. The effect is a strong stone with uplifting, happy, euphoric sensations. In terms of its therapeutic use, Snow White is useful to treat symptoms of stress, pain and nausea.
4. Candy Cream Feminised from Seedsman – Click here to buy now!
Christmas is the time of year where most can forget about their diets and enjoy feasting on candy. And with Candy Cream from Seedsman, you will truly feel like a kid in a candy store!
Candy Cream is a typically indica-structured plant which develops dense buds along its many side-branches. It was bred from crossing Blue Black with Maple Leaf Indica and White Rhino.
This 90% indica strain has a rich, sweet caramel flavour with earthy undertones.
Although it can do well in all environments the best results are to be had indoors where yields of up to 600 gr/m2 can be harvested in just 9 weeks of flowering.
The effect imparted by Candy Cream is very indica-like with a heavenly, relaxing potency to relax both mind and body. It is said to have a good medicinal effect due to the fairly high concentration of CBD and is recommended to help with the effects of insomnia.
So frosty and sparkling is the appearance of Ice Feminised by Royal Queen Seeds, you would think that it had been cultivated in a winter wonderland.
Ice is a three-way hybrid that was bred from a Pure Afghan with Northern Lights and Skunk. The name Ice is said to stand for Indica Crystal Extreme which gives a good clue as to its resin-producing capabilities. This is a great strain to use for producing extracts from; even the trim is covered in crystals.
Ice is a 90% indica cannabis plant that only reaches a height of approximately 100 cm. Pinching the top out of the plant will make it grow substantially bushier with a worthwhile increase in yields. It is recommended for indoor cultivation unless growers live in a warm climate region. It will not thrive in cool, often damp, northern European summers.
Ice looks like a typical indica plant, squat with broad, dark green leaves. It can be harvested in 8 weeks of flowering although it is recommended to leave for up to another two weeks as this will really maximise its resin production.
Yields are in the region of 400 – 450 gr/m2 under a 600 watt grow light. Plants grown outdoors can yield as much as 500 – 550 gr/plant as, when planted either in the ground or in very large pots, each plant can grow as tall as 150 – 200 cm.
In this environment harvest will be during the month of September in northern latitudes. Buds are very dense and compact and therefore it is a very good idea to keep a watchful eye as harvest-time approaches as mould can sometimes be an issue.
THC production is high at 18% while CBD is said to be low. The effect is very physical and is the very definition of the term couch-lock. It’s heavy and hard-hitting and, unless you are a very experienced smoker, not recommended for daytime use at all. This is classic chill-out bud that is also a good solution to those with sleeping problems such as insomnia.
